One of the Most Terrifying Nights of Our Life: February 12, 2014

Hi Everyone-

The events from last night continue to play in my head over and over again and it was just so scary that I'm at a loss for words. Like many of you guys,we have furbabies. We have two chihuahua mixes that are the light of our lives. They bring us so much joy and happiness.

Well last night, my oldest baby, Sirius Black, had a seizure for the first time, and not only was it his first, he continued to have a second one and a third one all within like 10 minutes. I have never seen anything like that before, and I think the worst part about it is that he was acting completely normal beforehand. I was so scared and had no idea what to do. We quickly got in the car, I didn't even have shoes on, and drove him to the nearest 24 hour emergency animal hospital. We quickly found out last night that those are like 1 in a million in Las Vegas. We finally found one about 6 miles away from where we live and took him there.

By the time we got him to the vet, he seemed fairly normal which we were hoping was a good sign and then talked to the vet and she advised that she wanted to definitely keep him overnight and make sure that he didn't have any other seizures and that if he did that they would stop it immediately with medication. They wanted to blood work and all that to rule out some of the reasons on why he might've had a seizure like toxins and all of that.

Good news is that his blood work was all normal and that he hadn't had any seizures throughout the night and that we would be able to pick him up today. She did mention that because he had what's called cluster seizures, which is having multiple seizures within a very small time frame that Sirius is epileptic and that we would have to keep him on medication for the rest of his life.

The people at that vet's office were so helpful and nice and I'm so glad that we were able to take him there. I've done a ton of reading about seizures in dogs and I'm so happy to know that they can still live happy lives on the medication. I'm so grateful that there's nothing wrong with him and can't wait to pick him up tonight.

My wife and I are starting to do a bit better, we were such wrecks last night :P and my other baby Jarvis is definitely not himself today. He definitely knew last night that something was up and I think that he's sad and worried about his brother too. He's very somber today and just wants to lay in bed with us... and not even play with his lovies (stuffed toys). I think he really wants to see Sirius back too.

Thanks for listening.. I know this isn't always the most fun stuff to read but I just wanted to share <3

have you experienced anything like this? how did you cope?

until next time <3

What I Bought Wednesday! Target edition :)

Hi Everyone!

I had to run to Target for some essential household items and of course I went browsing around in the beauty section :) There were a few different things on clearance and so I picked up a few things. Let's get started :)

The first thing I bought was a new face wash because I'm out of my usual Garnier Cleansing Gelee. I was going to get another one of those but then this new Biore product caught my eye. It is the Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser. It really caught my eye because its black and because it is just a cleanser and not a exfoliating cleanser. Apparently it uses a Japanese Skin Purifying Technology that is supposed to give you results with just one wash. The smell is very clean and fresh and I can't wait to officially try it and see if it works as well as they say it does. I got this for $6.49.

Then I saw these babies in the clearance bin! These are the Boots No. 7 Sheer Temptation Lipsticks. They are around $9 full price and I got them for $4.98 a piece. I have heard rave reviews about Boots lipsticks in general because they are creamy and moisturizing and because I'm not into lipsticks, I thought these might be really nice because they give sheer color. When I swatched these, I really liked the formula, they are really buttery and glossy. I thought the two colors I chose are really pretty as well. Tempt is the bright pink one and Caramel Kiss is the nude. I also like that they are pretty pigmented but sheer at the same time. It makes for easy application. The last swatch is with the flash on for your reference.

Have you guys tried any of these products? I love finding great bargains :D

Tea Time Tuesday and Latest Read! #3

Hi Everyone!

Happy Tuesday! Welcome back to Tea Time Tuesday and Latest Read! I'm excited so let's get started!

This week's tea is loose leaf Jasmine Tea from enjoyingtea.com. I love this tea because I love the smell of jasmine and the hint of flavor it gives to the green tea. It just tastes so light and refreshing. I have ordered this tea and a few others from enjoyingtea.com and I really like the way that they package their teas and the price is really nice.

Just Finished:

Blessed by S.J West. This book was so good! It is the second in the Watcher's Trilogy and I finished it in less than 2 days.

Forgiven by S.J. West. This is the final book in the trilogy and I loved it. The entire series was amazing and if you like books about angels and stuff like that, you will love this series!

Sacrificed in Shadow by SM Reine. This book was also quite enjoyable. It's about this paranormal demon like person who is a hunter of bad demons if that makes any sense. There are angels, demons, witches, werewolves and such involved so if you're into that its pretty awesome. I would definitely recommend :)

Currently Reading: I literally just finished Sacrificed in Shadow at like 2:30 this morning so I haven't picked my next book yet however Sacrificed in Shadow is a part of Magic after Dark which has 6 different novels so I may start on the next one but haven't fully decided as of yet.

On a side note, can I just tell you how excited that I found out today through Instagram that Lena Dunham has written a book and it's coming out in a few months?! omg I can not wait!

Hope you enjoyed! What are you guys drinking and/or reading?

until next time <3

disclaimer: enjoyingtea.com is not sponsoring me at all in this post, everything has been purchased by me and all that good stuff :)

Beauty Review: Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mask

Hi Everyone!

After about a month of using this mask, I thought it would be awesome to give you guys a quick review.

The Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mask is a skin-refining mask with berry boosters goes straight to work on clogged pores. Strawberry and Rosemary eliminate impurities, while yarrow clarifies skin for instant complexion perfection. (from the Ulta website) You can purchase this mask for $5.99 which could definitely work for anyone who's on a real budget.

Now, I don't know about you guys but I'm always on the hunt for a great mud or clay mask to really deep clean pores (I feel like my pores are one of my biggest issues) and this one works pretty well for the price.

The Good: it smells really nice, great consistency.. not too thick and not too watery, doesn't dry out your skin and cleans purges your pores.

The Bad: no bad thoughts at all. For the price it's awesome!

What kind of masks are you guys using?

until next time <3
